We often talk about threats in the abstract, but for our August meeting, we’re going to look at them in real-time. We’re going hands-on with a live deployment of the T-PotCE Honeypot. Forget the slides—we’re going to watch the threat map live as it happens. We’ll look at where the scans are coming from, what tools they're using, and have an interactive discussion on how we can use this kind of "deception tech" to better inform our own local defensive strategies.
About the speaker: Mark Maynard is a seasoned cybersecurity leader with over 20 years of experience managing technical operations and security architecture for global, billion-dollar enterprises. He currently serves as the Cyber Range Director for the Oklahoma Cyber Innovation Institute (OCII) at The University of Tulsa, where he oversees advanced cyber simulation and training environments. Mark is also the President of the (ISC)² Tulsa Chapter, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to the professional growth of the local cybersecurity community. His extensive background includes 13 years at Johnson Controls, where he served as the Director of Global Information Security Architecture and Engineering. A graduate of the Concordia University-Wisconsin with an M.S. in Information Technology, Mark is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and has advised clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to local small businesses on incident response, risk management, and endpoint security
